Benjamin Barrett is a partner in the Atlanta-based law firm of Barrett & Farahany, LLP, a national law firm that exclusively represents plaintiffs in sexual assault, sexual harassment, rape, inadequate security and employment litigation.  After graduating in 1987 from the Case Western Reserve University School of Law, Benjamin Barrett has focused his practice in the areas of personal injury and employment litigation.  He has handled numerous cases in the areas of automobile, trucking, aviation, boating, railroad and insurance litigation, as well as all areas of employment law.  He has also represented people who have been injured because of negligence in the health care industry.  Mr. Barrett is licensed to practice law in Ohio (1987) and Georgia (1999) and is admitted to practice before many federal courts and the Supreme Court of the United States. 
 
Benjamin Barrett is an experienced trial lawyer and has been awarded status as a Fellow of the National College of Advocacy.  The status of Fellow is an acknowledged designation within the Association of Trial Lawyers of America and signifies commitment to effective representation of his clients and his dedication to achieving a high level of competence. 
 
In addition to his recognized litigation experience, Benjamin Barrett has conducted extensive research in the area of jury bias for over sixteen years.  Not only does Mr.  Barrett regularly conduct focus groups as part of his law practice, but he is sought by other attorneys to assist in the presentation of their cases and to determine how jurors respond to various case facts and issues.  Through his jury research projects, Mr. Barrett has become adept at solving difficult jury issues. 
 
Prior to starting Barrett & Farahany, LLP, Benjamin Barrett was a partner in the law firm of Miraldi & Barrett in Lorain, Ohio.  In addition, since 1992, Benjamin Barrett has been the legal advisor to the mock trial teams at Open Door High School and more recently, Elyria High School.  Under Benjamin Barrett's guidance, most of his teams achieved significant awards, including for "Best Attorney".  Many of his prior students have since become accomplished attorneys.
 
Benjamin Barrett is a frequent speaker and is sought both nationally and internationally to teach both attorneys and others.  Noteworthy topics include "Jury Bias After September 11"  for the Association of Trial Lawyers of America (ATLA) and the National Crime Victim Bar Association; Using Focus Groups to Develop Opening Statements for National Employment Lawyers Association and
"Apportionment of Fault in Inadequate Property Security Cases" at the Mealey's Retail Liability Conference. 
 
Benjamin Barrett is on the advisory board to the National Crime Victim Bar Association in Washington, D.C., and was the legal advisor to the Board of Directors of the Crime Victim's Advocacy Council in Atlanta and a founding board member for Anne's Home-Just in Case, a Chicago organization that provides therapeutic services to young women raped on or near their college campus.  In addition to his active participation in groups promoting victim's rights, Benjamin Barrett has served as the President of the National Employment Lawyers Association - Georgia chapter, a board member on the Institutional Review Board of Community Health Partners/Hospital since 1988 and an active member of the Inadequate Security Litigation group for the Association of Trial Lawyers of America.
